About Us

This small but mighty Canadian business is located in a lakeside community called 'Wabamun' in central Alberta. The store is run and owned by women, we are all mothers, at an age to accurately say that we have survived a lot in life and really appreciate the little things that bring us joy, like opening a brand new bar of amazingly smelling soap or finding that perfect lip balm and don't get us started on why finding the most comfortable pair of socks is so important!

We are not just an ecommerce small business, everything here on our website is also available in our rather epic gift shop located next to our sheepskin and cowhide business Angus Oliver Sheepskins. We launched Angus Oliver Sheepskins in 2019, folks visit us from all over Canada.

The Black Hen, Goods & Gifts is the rebrand of our gift shop which previously didn't have a name at all, the gift shop simply grew in the space next to our sheepskin rug showroom. We thought it was time to recognize the gift shop as its own entity.
